Introduction
Dimethyl Glutarate is an environmentally friendly, high-boiling-point solvent, also used as a synthetic resin plasticizer and in the synthesis of organic substances such as medicines.
Dimethyl glutarate is a slightly fragrant liquid with a boiling point of 214°C (0.9 MPa). It is highly soluble in ethers and alcohols and is irritating to the eyes, respiratory system, and skin. Appropriate protective clothing must be worn when handling it. Industrially, it is primarily used in organic synthesis.
Applications
Dimethyl glutarate is widely used in automotive coatings, color steel plate coatings, can coatings, enameled wires, and home appliance coatings. It is also an important intermediate for fine chemicals, used in the preparation of polyester resins, adhesives, synthetic fibers, membrane materials, etc.
