Introduction
Dimethyl suberate, also known as dimethyl octanedioate, is generally used as a plasticizer, a raw material for medicine, and fragrance. Dimethyl suberate is an organic compound that is a colorless liquid at room temperature. Its molecular structure contains nine rotatable bonds and four hydrogen bond acceptors, with a hydrophobic parameter (XlogP) of 1.9. This substance has a boiling point of 268°C at standard pressure, a density of 1.008 g/cm³, a flash point of 111.41°C, and a refractive index of approximately 1.432–1.434. It must be stored in a sealed container in a cool, dry place, away from contact with oxidizing agents. It poses a slight hazard to aquatic environments; therefore, measures must be taken to prevent large-scale leakage into groundwater or sewage systems. Its ecotoxicity and certain physicochemical parameters, such as explosion limits and vapor pressure, have not yet been established.
