Ethyl methyl carbonate is a colorless transparent liquid. This product is a non-protonic, polar, environmentally friendly organic solvent. It is soluble in organic solvents such as alcohol and ether, and insoluble in water. Relative density (d20/4): 1.0±0.1g/cm3, melting point: -14.5℃, boiling point: 109.2℃, flash point: 26.7℃±7.8℃, refractive index: 1.379.

Application:
Ethyl methyl carbonate is used as a solvent for lithium-ion battery electrolytes because of its strong solubility in lithium salts. It can not only improve the energy density and discharge capacity of the battery, but also has the characteristics of long cycle life, good safety performance, no memory effect, and good low-temperature performance. It has been widely used in high-end electrical appliances such as mobile phones, portable audio-visual equipment, and laptops. It is currently the most promising small secondary battery electrolyte solvent, and its advantages have been widely recognized by the industry.
Ethyl methyl carbonate contains active reaction groups such as methyl, ethyl and carbonyl, which can react with alcohols, phenols, amines and esters, and is often used as an intermediate in organic synthesis.
