Introduction
Diethylenetriaminepentamethylenephosphonic acid heptasodium salt is also called DTPMP heptasodium salt, or DTPMP·Na₇.
DTPMP ·Na7 is a neutral product. DTPMP ·Na7 is non-toxic. Solid DTPMP·Na7 is highly hygroscopic and soluble in water. It is used as a scale inhibitor and corrosion inhibitor for circulating cooling water and boiler water in water treatment.
DTPMP ·Na₇ can be used as a peroxide stabiliser, a chelating agent for textile printing and dyeing, a dispersant for pigments, a trace element carrier in fertilisers, and a concrete additive. In addition, it has also been widely used in papermaking, electroplating, and cosmetics.
