Introduction
Diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA) is an excellent aminocarboxylic acid complexing agent with strong chelating property. It is white crystal, soluble in hot water and alkali solution, slightly soluble in water, with a solubility in water (20 ℃) of 5g/l, and insoluble in organic solvents such as alcohol and ether. Melting point is 230℃ (decomposition).

Application
DTPA can quickly form water-soluble complexes with calcium, magnesium, iron, lead, copper, and manganese ions, especially with high-valent color-forming metals. It is widely used in hydrogen peroxide bleaching stabilizers, water softeners, textile printing and dyeing industry auxiliaries, food additives, pharmaceutical stabilizers, and complexing agents in the photosensitive industry.
