Dimethyl phthalate CAS 131-11-3 is used as a plasticizer for cellulose acetate and a repellent and solvent for polyvinyl fluoride coatings. It is a plasticizer with strong solubility for various resins and is suitable for various cellulose resins, rubbers, and vinyl resins. It has good film-forming properties, adhesion, and water resistance. It is usually used together with diethyl phthalate in the production of cellulose acetate film, varnish, transparent paper, and molding powder. A small amount of this product is used in the production of nitrocellulose. This product can also be used as a plasticizer for nitrile rubber and has good cold resistance. This product can be mixed with other plasticizers. It can overcome the shortcomings of high volatility and low-temperature crystallization.
